Position Summary

This is a senior leadership position responsible for building a team to define the Virtustream Customers Cloud Native Experience for developers. This includes all aspects of product Management such as, Market Requirements, Customer Requirements, Field Requirements, Feature Definition, Use Case Definition, Pricing, Demand Planning, and working with cross-functional teams across Virtustream to ensuring GTM readiness (sales training requirements, communications, sales plays and programs) across Globe.

The purpose of the role is to ensure integrated product portfolio for Developers and GTM planning/outcomes, for the global market. Scope includes technologies including but not limited to Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, API, Data Protection technologies, Hadoop, Hawk, and many others. This role is to help Virtustream design an experience for Developers which help customers deliver Systems of Record and Cloud Native application development on the Virtustream Cloud Platform. This position requires leadership and team first acumen with superior data analytics, communication and influence as well as executive and customer interaction on a daily basis.


Product Leadership Duties

Research and Analysis


+ Research and analyze market conditions

+ Identify key competitor and consumer trends

+ Articulate market requirements and opportunities

+ Identify opportunities for product innovation and product enhancements

+ Work with research regarding product development


Lead a team that delivers Product Planning and Management


+ Determine product specifications

+ Define the long term strategy of the product and create product road map

+ Prepare product documents including Market Requirement Documents and product use cases to drive product activity

+ Develop pricing strategies and product policies

+ Determine product packaging solutions

+ Negotiate with suppliers

+ Oversee product development

+ Manage and communicate with cross functional teams


Customer and End-User Support


+ Manage product-related support, feedback and inquiries from users

+ Co-ordinate market research to track customer and end-user feedback

+ Use market feedback to inform product refinements and ongoing development


Education and Experience


+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent

+ advanced degree an advantage

+ Previous product management or related experience

+ Quantitative and business analysis skills

+ Knowledge of marketing principles and practices

+ Knowledge of business and management principles and practices

+ Project management skills

+ Proficient in relevant Cloud Native Technology


Reporting Structure

This role reports to the SVP, Virtustream Product Management and Strategy.

Key Responsibilities & KPIs


+ Cloud Native Product Portfolio Leadership and Talent Recruitment

+ Product Line Management (driving roadmap strategies and ensuring in region LOB execution)

+ Pricing (ensuring end to end alignment from DOL strategy to special pricing engagement)

+ Demand Planning (driving the forecast for the platform relating to Cloud Native Development)

+ Engage with Global and Regional Marketing, Sales and Operations in a matrix environment.

+ Ability to represent Virtustream with Media and Analyst.

+ Drive through analytics, understand market dynamics, competitive dynamics, and customer requirements.

+ Lead cross functional complex strategic initiatives.

+ Ensure alignment with Virtustream Product Management & Strategy team

+ Deep knowledge and understanding of technologies and new technologies.

+ Experience of both strategic and tactical leadership adjusting strategies and go-to-market plans to meet market requirements and customer satisfaction objectives.

+ Demonstrate deep analytical skills and have the ability to visualize, articulate and solve issues.

+ Experience of leading direct teams as well as in a matrixed organization structure.
